Transfer Station Information

Transfer Station Online Sales  - Transfer Station Permits/Tags and Extra Tags can all be purchased at this link and picked up at Town Offices or the Transfer Station within 48 hours of purchase.   

 

Transfer Station Fees

Permits and Tags can be purchased at at Town Offices (191 Church Street)

Tuesdays from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM in the Town Administrator Office

  • Permit (for July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027) $ 150.00                
  • PAYT (Pay As You Throw) TAGS -  $5 per sheet -  $1 each
  • Replacement Permit  $10 
  • Mattresses - No longer accepted at the Town of Cheshire Transfer Station
  • Couch (without pullout ) $ 25.00 each (with pullout) $30 each 
  • Chair (no commercial haulers or contractors - residential use only) $ 10.00 each
  • TV's/Computer Monitors (under 36") $15.00 each
  • TV's (over 36") $25 each
  • Console TV's   $ 30 each 
  • Large Projection TV   $40 each

Tires are no longer accepted at the Cheshire Transfer Station -  Tires can be taken to Dream Green Recyling located at 15 Printworks Drive in Adams Dream Green Recycling Website

NBSWMD Recycling Holiday Light Strands -  Broken or unwanted holiday lights can be placed in teh scrap metal recycling containers located at the Transfer Station, This program is open all year long and is free of charge.

Starting Monday April 8, 2024 the Cheshire Transfer Station will be working with Tommy's Compost Service.   For more information please visit https://www.tommyscompost.com/.  Any and All Types of Food can be composted in bins at the Transfer Station, not only do food scaps and wastes have a large economic impact in terms of dispoal cost, but they also have immediate enviromental impacts.  

Mattress Recycling

*Please make note that the recycling fee is noted on the flyer. If a resident has a mattress that is deemed not to be recycled the fee for disposal will be much higher. This could be as hight as $125 per unit, subject to change.

Residential Computer Recyling -  FREE to Permit Holders

Reconnect is a residential computer recycling program that offers you an easy, convenient and responsible way to recycle your used computer equipment.  You can drop off any brand of used computer equipment at your participating Goodwill donation centers in your area, it's free.  Cheshire Transfer Station now has a bin to place your items, please see the attendant for more information. 

What can be recycled:  Monitors, Scanners, Mice, Printers, Keyboards, Laptop Batteries, Ink/Toner Cartridges, Computers, Hard Drivers, Speakers, Cords and Cables, see the flyer below.
